At the end of the day, Islam or any religion today is supposed to be about our relationship with God. And surely more about spirituality than about the interpretation of men. Not that I'm saying that there is anything wrong with listening to others interpretations but we MUST accept that they are merely interpretations -and an individuals opinion. It must not and cannot be considered fact or unchallengeable.
Do I listen to the opinions on Islam from a life long beurocrat and political animal like Harusnini or to other students of the Koran that have had real life experiences like Kamilah Kasim or Azhar Harun , Mujahidin Zulkiffli or Farouk A. Peru? Again it should be a personal choice as to who's interpretation I choose to use. Harusnini cannot and must not be the conveyor of all that is Islam. Just as a priest at the Guruvayur temple in Kerala cannot be the supplier of all information that is Hindu.
